On Mark Holan's Irish-American Blog, there is a very interesting article about his use of
Ancient Order of Hibernian records, housed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[1]
These records are available for in-person research at the
Senator John Heinz History Center. Their collection of AOH records includes Allegheny County Board Records 1896–2012 and another Allegheny County set of Board records covering 1902-1980. Death benefit records,
membership applications, and photographs are just some of the useful record
subsets that a genealogist can avail of.
